Information this site may collect
The services delivering YakoPost may receive basic technical information needed to operate it securely, such as request times, browser type, and IP address.
Article analytics
When enabled, YakoPost measures article views, active reading time, how far readers reach through an article, the referring website’s hostname, and a broad screen-size category. This helps us understand which coverage readers find useful. Reading and completion figures are estimates based on time and page position.
The tracker creates a random token for each page opening and keeps it only in that page’s memory. It does not use analytics cookies, local storage, persistent visitor identifiers, or browser fingerprinting. Reloading or reopening an article counts as another view; we do not measure unique people. Full referring URLs, IP addresses, and browser user-agent strings are not stored in the analytics database. The server briefly uses the connection’s IP address in memory to limit excessive requests.
Analytics are stored in our Loopia database. Individual page-opening records are deleted after 90 days by a cleanup that runs daily while the site is running and resumes at startup after downtime. Daily totals may be retained longer. Database backups may retain deleted records for the hosting provider’s backup period. The tracker skips collection when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. Browser settings and content blockers can also prevent collection.
Information you choose to provide
If you contact YakoPost, Yakoru AB will use the information you provide to respond to your message and maintain appropriate business records.
Cookies and local storage
YakoPost does not use advertising cookies. The private analytics dashboard uses essential sign-in and form-security cookies for its editor. Public article analytics do not set cookies.
Embedded YouTube videos
Article pages may offer videos through YouTube's privacy-enhanced player. YakoPost does not contact YouTube when the article first loads. If you choose to play an embedded video, your browser connects to YouTube and Google may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser details, the page containing the video, and your interaction with the player. YouTube's own privacy terms then apply.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Questions can be sent to privacy@yakoru.se.
