Choosing between the 256GB and 1TB Steam Frame is one decision. There are now a couple of extras worth knowing about, too.

Valve's Steam Frame Compatible Accessories section currently lists a color camera from Arcturus Vision and prescription lenses from Zenni. Valve says products carrying the mark have been tested to work with the headset.

Arcturus Vision Camera: Color passthrough for €157

The Arcturus Vision Camera plugs into the Frame's front expansion port and adds color passthrough. Put simply, it lets you see your room in color while wearing the headset, instead of the standard grayscale view.

Arcturus says the module weighs less than 10 grams and provides a 5K HDR camera image. Its free companion app also lets you record and watch 3D spatial videos.

The European store currently lists it at €157, including taxes and standard shipping, with orders open.

One detail worth knowing: that 5K figure covers the two camera views combined. It doesn't change the resolution of the Frame's screens. The reason to buy it is the view of your surroundings or the recording features.

Zenni prescription lenses: Announced at US$67.95

Zenni's inserts are made for the Steam Frame and snap into the headset, letting you use your prescription without wearing glasses underneath it. A carrying case and cleaning cloth are included.

Zenni announced a price of US$67.95. That's the US price; a European total wasn't shown on the page checked for this article.

Although Zenni's announcement gave September 14, 2026, as the launch date, its linked product page still showed "coming soon" and an email signup on September 16, 2026. Check that page before planning an order.

Where to buy them

Neither accessory is required to use the Frame. If glasses are uncomfortable inside a headset, the lenses address that problem. The camera makes sense if you want color passthrough or plan to record 3D video.
